  • Greene, Winnen Stay in the Flames

    Devonte Greene (Cuyahoga) and Ally Winnen (Lorain County) are both back as the OCCAC Players of the Week (Feb. 3-9), and have now combined for seven such awards during the 2024-25 season.
  • Greene, Homan Run Away with Player of the Week Distinction

    Devonte Greene (Cuyahoga) and Rylie Homan (Edison State) were both unanimous selections for the latest OCCAC Basketball Player of the Week awards (Jan. 27-Feb. 2). It also represents the pair’s second honor this season and the third of Greene’s career.
  • First-Time Honorees Snare OCCAC Weekly Accolades

    There wasn’t anything unlucky about Week 13 of the OCCAC Basketball season for Abigail Schmitz (Lorain County) and Chris Brownlee (Cuyahoga), each picking up their first OCCAC Player of the Week Awards while their teams went 2-0 in league play.
  • Pair of Guards Wrangle OCCAC Weekly Awards

    Kenyatta Jackson (Terra State) and Owen Bronston (Edison State) are the OCCAC Basketball Players of the Week for Jan. 13-19. Jackson is a first-time honoree while Bronston brings home his second recognition of the season.

    Dennis Pettis, Jr. and Ally Winnen of Lorain County Community College are the latest OCCAC Basketball Players of the Week (Dec. 30-Jan. 5). Both are return honorees as the tandem has combined for five such awards this season.
  • Dupler Snares OCCAC Player of the Week Honors

    Cayeligh Dupler and the Hocking Hawks women’s basketball program are riding a 4-game winning streak, including three dubs last week. Dupler was the top performer and earned OCCAC Player of the Week recognition for the second time in her career.
  • Four Wins, Two Awards in Week 7

    Allison Hughes (Edison State) is back as the OCCAC Player of the Week for the fifth time in her career while Xavier Vann (Cuyahoga) is getting his first taste as the men’s basketball selection. Both honorees elevated their squad to a pair of wins and are in early contention for the conference title.

  • Hurst Joins Cody at the Top of the Weekly List

    Treshawn Cody is now the three-time reigning OCCAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week after his latest award-worthy performance included a 45-point outburst at Delta College. He is joined this week by Mia Hurst of Owens Women’s Basketball and her 26-point, 14-rebound double-double against Oakland Community College.
  • Winning Ways Lead to Individual Honors

    Treshawn Cody (Hocking Men’s Basketball) and Rylie Homan (Edison State Women’s Basketball) combined to be a part of five victories during the week of Nov. 18-25, earning the OCCAC’s Player of the Week laurels along the way. The Hawks went 3-0 while the Chargers tallied wins in both of their contests.
  • Hawks Haul in Weekly Accolades

    Hocking’s Treshawn Cody and Lilly Weaver were selected as the OCCAC Basketball Players of the Week for Nov. 11-17. This represents Cody’s third such honor while the freshman, Weaver, brought home her first.
  • Week 2’s Basketball Players of the Week

    Dennis Pettis, Jr. (Lorain County) and Abby Yukon (Edison State) are the OCCAC Basketball Players of the Week for Nov. 4-10. Yukon, a sophomore, is now a two-time honoree after also earning the accolade on Dec. 25, 2023 as a freshman.
