Allison Hughes (Edison State) is back as the OCCAC Player of the Week for the fifth time in her career while Xavier Vann (Cuyahoga) is getting his first taste as the men’s basketball selection. Both honorees elevated their squad to a pair of wins and are in early contention for the conference title.

Hughes averaged 30.0 points and 20.0 rebounds in the Chargers’ two victories. Yes, you read that correctly … 60 points and 40 rebounds in two games. She added four assists, two steals and two blocks while logging 68 minutes and shooting 51% (26-51) from the field.
