2024-25 OCCAC Basketball Awards

Eight of nine OCCAC institutions are represented in the All-OCCAC Basketball postseason honors with seven schools placing a student-athlete on both the men’s and women’s All-OCCAC Teams.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL ANNUAL AWARDS
Player of the Year: Ally Winnen (Lorain County); Runner-up — Allison Hughes (Edison State)
Coach of the Year: Andrew Brown (Hocking)
Defensive Player of the Year: Emily Blevins (Hocking)
Playmaker of the Year: Abby Yukon (Edison State)

MEN’S BASKETBALL ANNUAL AWARDS
Player of the Year: Treshawn Cody (Hocking); Runner-up — Owen Bronston (Edison State)
Coach of the Year: Aaron Nixon (Cuyahoga)
Defensive Player of the Year: Devonte Greene (Cuyahoga)
Playmaker of the Year: David Mensah (Clark State) 


NOTES

  • Abigail Schmitz and Ally Winnen are the first two Commodores to earn All-OCCAC First Team recognition in women’s basketball
  • Emily Blevins (Hocking) took sole possession of the league’s Defensive Player of the Year distinction after sharing co-honors a season ago
  • Treshawn Cody (Hocking) upgraded from Defensive Player of the Year in 2023-24 to Player of the Year as a sophomore
  • Aaron Nixon became the first Men’s Basketball Coach of the Year for Cuyahoga since Michael Duncan in 2018-19
