Kenyatta Jackson (Terra State) and Owen Bronston (Edison State) are the OCCAC Basketball Players of the Week for Jan. 13-19. Jackson is a first-time honoree while Bronston brings home his second recognition of the season.
Jackson averaged 27.3 points, 8.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 3.0 steals during a 3-game week for the Titans. The freshman guard exploded for 41 points in a tightly-contested 79-77 conference win at Clark State. She added 11 rebounds in addition to the 14 made field goals and nine successful foul shots to lift victorious Terra State. Jackson cracked the 20-point mark in the week’s two previous outings as well, shooting 55% (29-53), including 9-of-18 from beyond the arc, for the week.
Bronston posted per-game averages of 28.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.5 steals while turning it over just twice in 78 total minutes. He went off for 35 points, never leaving the floor in a conference clash against Lakeland.
