
Emily Blevins (Hocking) and Joel Webb (Cuyahoga) were both dynamite in their team’s lone game of the week, each leading to victory and an accompanying OCCAC Player of the Week honor.
Blevins scored 18 points in the second half of a comeback win at Owens, including 10 points in a fourth quarter that saw Hocking outscore the Express 22-7. Trailing 43-33 with 7:40 to go, Blevins and the Hawks got hot and stormed to a 55-49 winner. The sophomore guard knocked down 6-of-9 field goal attempts to go along with eight rebounds, six assists, four steals and a block.
Webb needed just 27 minutes to pour in 32 points on 12-of-18 shooting, including 8-of-12 from beyond the 3-point line. He added three steals, two rebounds and two assists to his sizzling shooting performance. The Triceratops guided to a 114-66 win over Bryant & Stratton (OH) to remain in second place of the OCCAC standings.
Hocking Women’s Basketball also maintained its second-place slot in the league standings with their Blevins-led victory.
