  • Bobcats Earn All-Sports Award in First Official OCCAC Season

    Bryant & Stratton (OH) Athletics entered the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference with a bang, winning three regular season championships after officially joining the league prior to the 2020-21 seasons. The Bobcats’ success led to earning the ’20-21 OCCAC All-Sports Award.
  • Jeff Price Earns Third AD of the Year Recognition

    Jeff Price, former Sinclair athletics director and head men’s basketball coach who recently accepted the associate head coach position for the University of Central Arkansas men’s basketball program, is leaving the conference with a bang – named the Michael Rickard Athletics Director of the Year for 2020-21. Price was voted to this honor for the third time in his career.
  • Nine Placed On OCCAC All-Sportsmanship Team

    Nine student-athletes exhibiting outstanding sportsmanship have been named to the 2020-21 OCCAC All-Sportsmanship Team. These fine representatives of the conference ‘do things the right way’ and exemplify the values expected of OCCAC student-athletes.
  • OCCAC Scholar-Athletes of the Year, 2020-21

    Four individuals have earned 2020-21 OCCAC Scholar-Athletes of the Year: Jeff Aime (Hocking College men’s basketball), Cassie Hoover (Terra State volleyball), Jagger Jefferies (Bryant & Stratton baseball) and Keara Wilson (Bryant & Stratton women’s basketball).

    While some OCCAC student-athletes came back to the court or field and others remained in a competition hiatus this past semester, academics was clearly still a main concentration for many as well over 100 honorees picked up Academic All-Conference recognition.
  • All-OCCAC Basketball Awards Announced

    The Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) released its 2020-21 postseason basketball awards. Twenty-two student-athletes received recognition, including Keara Wilson (Bryant & Stratton) as the women’s Player of the Year and men’s co-Player of the Year laurels going to Ryan Archey, Jr. (Hocking College) and Deval Harrell (Bryant & Stratton).
  • Bobcat Basketball Wins OCCAC Titles, Final Weekly Awards

    Bryant & Stratton College (OH) wrapped up 2020-21 OCCAC regular season championship campaigns this week for both men’s and women’s basketball. Fittingly, the final Player of the Week honors for ’21 were awarded to a pair of Bobcats in Keara Wilson and Deval Harrell.
  • Clark State Lays Claim to Weekly Basketball Honors Again

    Ryan Marchal paired up with another member of the Clark State women’s basketball team this week to sweep the OCCAC Player of the Week awards for the second consecutive week. He was joined by Kelsey Boggs this time around.
  • Clark State Reps, Cauley and Marchal, Named OCCAC Players of the Week

    MaKenzie Cauley and Ryan Marchal from Clark State Community College are the OCCAC Basketball Players of the Week for March 15-21, 2021. The pair of Eagles both shot north of 50% for the week and led their teams to an upset win.
  • Archey, Flowers-Coleman Repeat as Players of the Week

    Ryan Archey, Jr. (Hocking College) and Tahjanae Flowers-Coleman (Bryant & Stratton) have each earned their second OCCAC Player of the Week recognition of the season. Flowers-Coleman returns to the winners circle just two weeks after her last honor while Archey’s previous award came on Feb. 8.

    Ryan Marchal (Clark Sate) and Keara Wilson (Bryant & Stratton) were the conference’s top basketball performers last week and have been tabbed as the OCCAC Players of the Week for March 1-7, 2021.
  • Bobcat Basketball Sweeps Weekly Accolades

    Tahjanae Flowers-Coleman and Deval Harrell from Bryant & Stratton College (OH) are the OCCAC Basketball Players of the Week for Feb. 22-28, 2021. The Bobcat pair lifted their respective squads to victory this past week. The 16th-ranked Bobcat men defeated #17 Hocking College, 85-83, and Bryant & Stratton (Rochester) in a 79-75 thriller, while the women’s team sprinted past Hocking College, 80-59.

    Alaina Lyons (Clark State) is now a three-time OCCAC Player of the Week winner just one month into the 2021 season while Jeron Tinlsey (Hocking College) becomes the third different Hawk representative to snare the league honor in ’21.

  • Basketball is Back; Weekly Recognition Resumes

    A handful of schools from the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) returned to the hardwood last week (Jan. 25-31) after nearly a year away from competition. Landon Sprigler (Hocking College) and Alaina Lyons (Clark State) were voted as the top performers and elevated as the first OCCAC Basketball Players of the Week for 2021.
  • Over 200 Secure OCCAC Academic All-Conference Distinction for Fall ‘20

    While performing in the athletics realm was put on hold during the Fall 2020 semester, loads of Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) student-athletes performed admirably in the world of academia. Over 200 individuals brought home OCCAC Academic All-Conference laurels, including 39 perfect 4.0 GPAs.
