Archey, Lyons Named OCCAC Players of the Week

Alaina Lyons (Clark State) has opened up the 2021 campaign with back-to-back OCCAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week performances while Ryan Archey, Jr., snags the second straight men’s accolade for Hocking College.

Archey racked up 28 points by sinking 10-of-16 (63%) field goal attempts, including 4-of-7 (57%) from beyond the arc, while hitting all four foul shots in a 90-69 victory over Kent State University Tuscarawas. He also registered seven rebounds (three offensive), two assists, a steal and a block in 37 minutes of action for the Hawks.

Lyons never left the floor in two games for the Eagles, playing all 80 minutes. She contributed on both sides of the ball, averaging 19.0 points offensively and swiping 4.5 steals per game. Lyons chipped in three rebounds, three assists and a block for the week.
