Four individuals have earned 2020-21 OCCAC Scholar-Athletes of the Year: Jeff Aime (Hocking College men’s basketball), Cassie Hoover (Terra State volleyball), Jagger Jefferies (Bryant & Stratton baseball) and Keara Wilson (Bryant & Stratton women’s basketball).
In order to be eligible for nomination, four requirements must be met:
-Competed in at least one athletics contest
-Earned a 3.6 GPA or better for the current academic year
-Passed 18 hours during the current academic year (number of hours lowered due to academic challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic)
-Engaged in community service during the current academic year.
The annual award is voted on by a conference committee which weighs academic success (50%), community service (25%) and athletic achievements (25%) in determining the recipients.
