Clark State Reps, Cauley and Marchal, Named OCCAC Players of the Week

MaKenzie Cauley and Ryan Marchal from Clark State Community College are the OCCAC Basketball Players of the Week for March 15-21, 2021. The pair of Eagles both shot north of 50% for the week and led their teams to an upset win.

Cauley recorded at least 14 points and eight rebounds in all three games last week, nearly averaging a double-double at 16.3 points and 9.7 rebounds per game. She was an efficient shooter, converting on 54% (19-35) overall and 55% from beyond the arc. Cauley got it done at the free throw line as well, sinking 5-of-6 foul shots.

RYAN MARCHAL – men’s player of the week

Marchal picks up his second honor in the last three weeks after filling it up for 61 points in two games this week. He opened by playing all 45 minutes in an overtime victory over #16 Hocking College, stuffing the stat sheet with 28 points, five rebounds and three assists. Marchal came back later in the week to deliver 33 points, six rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block at Kent State Tuscarawas. He made 24-of-45 (53%) field goal attempts, including seven 3-pointers.
