Lyons, Tinsley Bring in Weekly OCCAC Honors

Alaina Lyons (Clark State) is now a three-time OCCAC Player of the Week winner just one month into the 2021 season while Jeron Tinlsey (Hocking College) becomes the third different Hawk representative to snare the league honor in ’21.

Lyons dropped in 23 points twice last week, including an 87-75 OCCAC win over Hocking College. She was hitting from deep, making 8-of-17 (47%) 3-point attempts with four made triples in each contest. Lyons did more than just score, however, also contributing seven rebounds, three assists and three steals in 78 minutes played. Lyons was previously named the league’s player of the week on Feb. 1 and Feb. 8.

Hocking College

Tinsley elevated the Hocking College season record to 6-1 by pushing his squad to a pair of victories last week. Tinsley averaged 19.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists while converting on 62% (13-21) on his field goal attempts and forcing his way to the charity stripe 18 times (hitting 12 foul shots). Tinsley showed up biggest in a road league win at Clark State, posting 26 points, seven rebounds and three assists.

 Teammates Landon Sprigler and Ryan Archey, Jr. were tabbed as player of the week on Feb. 1 and Feb. 8, respectively.
