Twenty OCCAC student-athletes were honored today as the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) national office announced the recipients of the 2014-15 NJCAA Academic Student-Athlete Awards today.
Owens Community College has been named the 2014-15 OCCAC All-Sports Award winner, with Cincinnati State Technical and Community College finished second.
Ellie Cain, a freshman setter from Columbus State Community College, and Tevin Williams, a freshman forward from Cuyahoga Community College, have earned the final volleyball and men's soccer player of the week awards of the season.
The Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) has now had four student-athletes earn national player of the week honors following the announcement by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) that Stephanie Ruffing of Columbus State's volleyball team and Mohamed Thiaw of Cincinnati State's men's soccer team are national player of the week recipients for the week ending Oct. 19.

Toledo, Ohio---Matt Almester, a redshirt freshman forward for the Owens Community College men's soccer team, has been named the OCCAC Player of the Week.
Cleveland, Ohio---Cuyahoga Community College's Tevin Williams, a freshman forward, and Jeremiah Carsten, a sophomore goalkeeper, have earned OCCAC offensive and defensive player of the week honors, respectively.
