Owens Captures 2014-15 OCCAC All-Sports Award, Cincinnati State Second

Owens Community College has been named the 2014-15 OCCAC All-Sports Award winner, with Cincinnati State Technical and Community College finished second.

The award is tallied by awarding points to each school for its place of finish in each respective sport and dividing that total by the number of sports at each respective school.

Owens, which captured outright championships in women's basketball and softball, won with a conference best average of 9.07 points. They also were co-champions in men's basketball, while finishing second in men's golf, women's volleyball and men's soccer. The baseball team finished fourth.

Cincinnati State captured outright titles in men's golf and men's soccer to finish in second place with an average of 8.5 points. They also finished third in men's and women's basketball and fourth in women's volleyball.

Columbus State (7.75 average) and Sinclair Community College (7.6 average) finished in a close race for third and fourth place. Columbus State captured a conference championshiop in women's volleyball and finished second in women's basketball, while Sinclair captured the conference's baseball championship.

Lakeland Community College (7.07 average), Cuyahoga Community College (6.75 average), Lorain County Community College (5.33 average) and Edison Community College (3.66 average) rounded out the league.

Lakeland captured a co-championship in men's basketball with Owens and finished third in baseball. Cuyahoga finished second in baseball, third in men's soccer and fourth in men's basketball.

Notes

Cincinnati State won last year's OCCAC All-Sports Award, while this year's win is the second in the past three years for Owens.
