  • Conference Unveils 2018 Baseball Awards & Recognitions

    Individual postseason awards for the 2018 OCCAC baseball campaign have been announced with 23 student-athletes earning all-conference honors. Yearly accolades were named as well. Sinclair’s Kyle Ruehlman and Steve Dintaman earned OCCAC Pitcher of the Year and Coach of the Year, respectively, while Luke Baranchak of Mercyhurst North East corralled the league’s Player of the Year hardware.
  • Sinclair Baseball Heading Back to the NJCAA World Series

    Sinclair Community College Baseball advanced to the NJCAA D-II World Series for the second time in three seasons after winning the Region XII Tournament. The Tartan Pride will begin World Series competition Saturday (May 26) in Enid, Okla., at David Allen Memorial Ballpark. The 10-team, double-elimination tournament runs May 26-June 1/2.
  • Spring Sport Postseason Information

    Seven OCCAC teams are set to compete in the postseason to conclude the Spring semester. Cuyahoga and Sinclair have advanced to their respective District Softball Championships and begin playing Wednesday (May 9). Sinclair Baseball’s OCCAC title earned it a slot in the North District Championship tournament while Cuyahoga, Edison State, Lakeland and Mercyhurst North East are all two wins away from also reaching the NJCAA D-II District level.
  • Top Performances Earn Baseball Athlete of the Week Laurels

    With the 2018 OCCAC Baseball championship race winding down, representatives from the top-2 conference contenders were selected as the OCCAC Athletes of the Week. Sinclair’s Malave Bettinger is this week’s Position Player of the Week while Max Carevic of Cuyahoga earned Pitcher of the Week honors.
  • Weekly Awards Presented to Superb Student-Athletes

    Sinclair Softball swept the OCCAC Athlete of the Week awards for Apr. 23-29 with ‘Alexis Squared,’ Alexis Gordon and Alexis Strother, earning Position Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively. For baseball, Edison State’s Jake Clements (position player) and Brock Begue (pitcher) of Cuyahoga received the weekly recognition.
  • NJCAA Region XII Division II Baseball Sub District Tournament Information
    April 24, 2018
    A four-team, single-elimination tournament will determine a berth into the District Tournament. The three games will be contested on May 11 in Sandusky, Ohio at Sports Force Parks.
  • Three Repeats and One First-Timer Earn Conference Laurels

    Three of four OCCAC Spring Athlete of the Week honorees for April 16-22 are repeat customers while Cuyahoga’s Santiago Ramirez earns his first career Pitcher of the Week accolade. Softball selections Kallista Hribar (Lakeland; position player) and Alexis Strother (Sinclair; pitcher) both pick up their third award this season and Colin Shepherd (position player) from Sinclair snags his second.

  • Spring Sport Athletes of the Week Picked for April 2-8

    The weekly honorees for April 2-8 consists of three Cuyahoga Challengers and a member of the Sinclair Tartan Pride. Cuyahoga’s Chase Carney and Kaitlyn Boykin have been named the Position Players of the Week while fellow Challenger, Brock Begue, represents baseball’s Pitcher of the Week and Alexis Strother of Sinclair earns her second Pitcher of the Week accolade from the softball circle.
  • Athletes Shining Bright on the Diamond Earn Weekly Honors

    It was a good week for Lakeland Athletics, taking home three of four OCCAC Athlete of the Week honors for March 26-April 1. While Lakers Luis Padron, Kallista Hribar and Hudson Widrig earned conference recognition, so too did Allison Stark from Cuyahoga C.C. as this week’s Softball Pitcher of the Week.
  • OCCAC Names Spring Sport Athletes of the Week for March 19-26

    Four different OCCAC institutions are represented in this week’s Spring Sport Athlete of the Week (March 19-26) recognitions. Alex Jacobs (Sinclair) and Kaila Sense (Cuyahoga) are the Position Player of the Week honorees while Marcus Johnson (Edison State) and Sydney Aey (Lakeland) received Pitcher of the Week laurels.
  • Spring Athletes of the Week Announced

    Cuyahoga Community College nearly swept the latest OCCAC’s Spring Sport Athletes of the Week, bringing home three of the four accolades. Sinclair Baseball’s Josh Wilson spoiled the sweep by earning Pitcher of the Week recognition. For Tri-C, Lucas DiLuca is the Position Player of the Week while softballers Lexi Rehm and Daniele Revera are the Position Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively.
  • Edison State and Sinclair Sweep Spring Sport Weekly Awards

    Edison State Baseball and Sinclair Softball swept the OCCAC Spring Sport Athletes of the Week for March 5-11. Cameron Davis (position player) and Marcus Johnson (player) are the baseball honorees while Brianna West (position player) and Alexis Strother (pitcher) bring the softball awards back to Sinclair.
  • First Installment of Spring Sport Athletes of the Week Selected

    Believe it or not, Spring sports have begun in the OCCAC and the conference’s first Baseball/Softball Athletes of the Week (Feb. 26-March 4) have been awarded. Lakeland’s Kallista Hribar (position player) and Abby Takacs (pitcher) swept the softball accolades while Colin Shepherd of Sinclair picked up baseball player of the week recognition and Cuyahoga’s Doug Smith is the pitcher of the week.
  • Fall OCCAC Academic All-Conference Honorees Announced

    All final grades are in from the Fall semester and a ton of STUDENT-athletes from across the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference have earned Academic All-Conference honors. To qualify, a student-athlete must achieve a 3.30 GPA or higher while completing at least 12 credit hours.
