Ouddi Hamdam, a sophomore guard for Lorain County Community College, has been named the OCCAC men's basketball player of the week.

"Ouddi had a double-double against Pitt-Titusville, and he came close to having a triple-double against the number one ranked Division II team in the country," said Lorain County Community College head men's basketball coach Marty Eggleston.

Hamdan averaged 12.5 points, 12.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists over a pair of games against Pitt-Titusville and No. 1 Schoolcraft College last week.

In an 84-78 win oer Pitt-Titusville, Hamdan had 13 points, 15 rebounds, two blocks, one steal and one assist. Then, in an 82-61 loss to NJCAA Division II No. 1 Schoolcraft College, he had 12 points, 10 rebounds, eight assists and one block.

The two games represented the start of Lorain County's regular season. The team will take a 1-1 record into its Nov. 13 matchup against Anne Arundel Community College.
