Columbus State's Wallace Named OCCAC Player of the Week

Springfield, Ohio---The Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) has selected Hannah Wallace, a sophomore middle blocker for Columbus State Community College, as the OCCAC volleyball player of the week.

Wallace led the Cougars to a 3-1 record last week, including a pair of conference wins over Lakeland, along with a win over Hocking College. She opened the week by picking up 12 kills, while hitting .632, in a four set loss to Sinclair.

She then hit .600 with 13 kills in a road match against Lakeland, and followed it up by hitting .375 with 14 kills in a home match against Lakeland. She closed out the week by hitting .727 with eight kills in a three set win over Hocking.

Along with her kills, Wallace averaged four digs and just over five blocks per match. She added three assists during the week, as well. 

Overall, Wallace is hitting a team-high .341 with 141 kills in 14 matches this year. In addition, she has eight assists, six aces, 45 digs and 83 blocks, which also leads the team. In conference play, she has 83 kills with a .372 hitting percentage, five assists, 30 digs and 54 blocks over eight matches.

Columbus State is 8-7 overall and 5-3 in OCCAC play, which has them third in the conferene standings.
