Courtright, Gorman Garner OCCAC Softball Player, Pitcher of the Week Awards

Britney Courtright and Ciara Gorman have been named this week's OCCAC player and pitcher of the week recipients, respectively, in softball.

Courtright, a sophomore IF/OF from Sinclair Community College, earned OCCAC player of the week honors after she went 9-for-19 (.474) last week over six games. She produced six runs, nine hits, two doubles, one home run, nine RBI and one walk. In four conference games, she hit .538 with six runs, one double, one home run, five RBI and one walk.

Courtright is hitting .400 (18-for-45) this year with 12 runs, five doubles, one triple, two home runs, 13 RBI and two walks. Her team is 8-11 overall and 2-2 in OCCAC play.

Gorman, a sophomore RHP/3B for Cuyahoga Community College, earned the OCCAC pitcher of the week award after she picked up a win in her team's 6-4 win over Sinclair on April 1. In that game, she pitched all seven innings while allowing 10 hits, four runs and zero walks while striking out six.

Gorman has a 4.83 ERA in 46.1 innings this year. She has struck out 42. Her team is 14-7 overall and 2-0 in OCCAC play.
