Toledo, OH---Express sophomores Mareshah Scott and Olivia Reeder will remain teammates as the two have signed with the University of Toledo softball program.

Scott will be replacing another former Express player, Kristen Roznoski, in centerfield for the Rockets. The Maumee High School graduate led the Express in hitting this past season with a .460 batting average (58-for-126). She tied for the team lead in hits, while adding 33 runs, three doubles, 10 RBI, two walks and 22 stolen bases.

Following the season, she was named First Team All-Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC), First Team All-Region XII and was the team's Coaches Award recipient.

As a freshman, Scott was named First Team All-OCCAC, won the team's Heart of a Champion award, was second on the team in hitting (.458) and added 65 hits, 50 runs, one double, one triple, 10 RBI and seven walks. She was 33-for-33 in stolen bases.

During her freshman year, Scott was named National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) D-II Player of the Week on May 2 after hitting .609 with 13 runs and seven stolen bases during the wek.

Reeder, meanwhile, vastly improved offensively as a sophomore while remaining a steady influence behind the plate as a catcher.

This past season, Reeder hit .315 (41-for-130), while tying for the team-high in RBI at 36. She added 23 runs, 11 doubles, one triple, one home run, 10 walks and eight stolen bases. She started all 41 games at catcher.

Following the season, she was named First Team All-OCCAC and was a member of the Region XII District G All-Tournament team. At the postseason athletic banquet, she was named the team's MVP.

As a freshman, Reeder hit .185 with 12 runs, two doubles, one triple, four RBI, 10 walks and one stolen base.

Academically, Reeder was a two-time All-OCCAC Academic Team selection, as well. She is a graduate of Genoa High School in Genoa, OH.

Reeder will form a mini-rivalry within her family as her sister Melissa played golf at the University of Toledo's rival, Bowling Green State University.

Notes

Scott and Reeder become the third and fourth Express softball players to transfer to NCAA D-I schools in the past three years. They join Roznoski (2011) and Ashlyn Michalak (Valparaiso University, 2012).

As a team, the Express went 65-24 over the past two years. They captured the OCCAC championship in 2011-12, and they advanced to the Region XII District G tournament finals this past season.
