Veres Inks With Express Softball, Becomes Part of 2013-14 Freshmen Class

Oregon, OH---Alexandra Veres, a catcher from Cardinal Stritch High School, has signed a letter of intent to play softball for the Express next year.

The 2013 graduate to be hasn't hit lower than .362 in her first three years with the Cardinals. 

As a junior, she hit .362 with a .500 on base percentage while being named First Team All-Toledo Area Athletic Conference (TAAC), Second Team All-District and Alan Miller's First Team All-Press.

As a sophomore, she hit .528 with 24 RBIs, one home run and zero strikeouts. During that year, she was named First Team All-TAAC, Honorable Mention All-District and Alan Miller's First Team All-Press. Over that summer, she was a USSSA World Series Champion with the Great Lakes Sharks (15U) travel team, where she was named to the all-tournament team.

As a freshman, she hit .370 with 19 RBIs in 84 at bats. She was named Honorable Mention All-TAAC, Honorable Mention All-District and Alan Miller's Honorable Mention All-Press.

Academically, Veres has a 3.66 GPA, is a member of the National Honor Society and won the Bryan Reamsnyder Award. She is also the student council vice president.

Alexandra is the daughter of Frank and Gina Veres. She plans on majoring in occupational therapy.

Veres joins Chelsea Evans (RHP, Grass Lake HS/Jackson, MI) and Leslie Ducat (RHP/1B, Evergreen HS/Metamora, OH) as one of three members of the 2013-14 Express softball freshmen class.
