Donaldson, IN --  In a match featuring two undefeated teams, Cincinnati State beat Ancilla Community College as Liam Doyle scored late to give the Surge a 4-3 victory.

The Surge, which entered the game ranked No, 7 in the NJCAA national poll, found themselves down early due to an own goal in the 3rd minute. The Surge quickly bounced back knotting the score 1-1 when sophomore Kyle Grothaus scored his 5th goal of the season off a set up from Liam Doyle. Grothaus later assisted on Kevin Walker's goal in the 19th minute as the Surge claimed a 2-1 lead.

Ancilla's Ignacio Avilles would score in the 49th. The game remained tied 2-2 until the 77th when Walker netted his second goal off an assist from Trae Collins. Ancilla would answer again one minute later as Isaias Moralles scored off an Avilles pass. With extra time looming, the Surge offense generated pressure leading to the team's 5th corner kick of the day. Doyle was able to capitalize off Bradley Gale's corner kick in the 83rd to reclaim the lead.

Down 4-3, Ancilla earned one last corner kick with 30 seconds remaining. Cincinnati State goalkeeper Ryan Hall thwarted Ancilla's chances, snatching the attempted cross through traffic in front of his net to help preserve Cincinnati State's flawless record.

"This was a well fought contest. You had two teams that really wanted it and left everything out on the field. It was a huge win for us as we remain on top the regional standings heading into tomorrow's contest," Head Coach Mike Combs said.

Cincinnati State, which improved to 4-0-1 overall with a 3-0 mark in regional competition, finish their six game road trip against Jackson Community College on Sunday before the home opener against rival Schoolcraft next Saturday.
