Muskegon, MI---The Cincinnati State men's soccer team defeated Owens Community College 2-0 in the NJCAA Region XII Tournament semifinals on Saturday afternoon.

The Surge were led by sophomore Justin Mitchell, who scored two goals in the 6th and 70th minute of the game. Ryan Strunk, who stopped a Owens penalty kick in the 64th minute, recorded 7 saves in the shutout victory as Cincinnati State advanced to the NJCAA Region XII Tournament finals.

The Surge, who improved to 15-5-1 overall, will face rival Schoolcraft College in the finals on Sunday beginning at 12:00 pm. Sunday's meeting marks the fifth time in six seasons that the two schools have met in the regional championship.

The game will be held at host site Muskegon Community College.
