Freshman Drew Williams (Sinclair CC) and sophomore Melanie Iacoangeli (Owens CC) have been named the OCCAC Player of the Week in baseball and softball, respectively.

Williams returned from a hip injury to help the Tartan Pride capture three of four from Lakeland Community College over the weekend. It was his first action since March 22.

Religated to DH duties, Williams went 6-for-9 in four games, while adding one double, one triple, two walks and two RBIs.

"He was ruled out for the year, but he rehabbed as much as he could and worked so hard that he was cleared," said Sinclair's head baseball coach Stephen Dintaman. "In his first AB, he tripled to the left field gap past a diving centerfielder. He had two of the three RBIs in the final game that we won 3-2. This kid is nails and we are glad to have him back. He will more than likely DH the rest of the season so that we can keep him healthy."

Williams is hitting .425 in 14 games this year.

Meanwhile, Iacoangeli earned her second player of the week honor this year. She went 10-for-18 (.556) in four games vs Sinclair and Cuyahoga. She added 11 stolen bases, eight runs, five RBIs and two doubles.

Overall this year, Iacoangeli is hitting .485 with 41 stolen bases, which is third most in the nation. In OCCAC play, she is the league's top hitter (13-for-20, .650) with a league-high 16 stolen bases.

Congratulations to both players!
