Sophomores Austin Cowan (Owens CC) and Lexi Sheets (Cuyahoga CC) have been named the OCCAC Player of the Week in baseball and softball, respectively.
Cowan went 3-for-7 with a run and two RBIs in two games against Sinclair Community College on Sunday, while Sheets threw a seven inning complete game against Sinclair, allowing only seven hits and two runs while striking out eight.
It was the first time Sheets has pitched this year.
At the plate, Sheets was 1-for-3 with a run and an RBI in game one vs Sinclair, followed by an 0-for-3, one run performance in game two. Overall, she is hitting .293 with 21 RBIs.
Cuyahoga is 16-6 overall and 6-0 in the OCCAC.
Cowan is hitting .333 with 16 RBIs this year.
The Express are 11-18 overall and 6-10 in the OCCAC.
