The OCCAC has awarded Mitch Roman, Lesley Ducat, Aubrey Szalay and Kyle Bennett with player and pitcher of the week honors in baseball and softball.

Bennett, of Owens Community College, threw his second complete game shutout of the season last week. In his only outing, the freshman allowed just two hits while walking none and striking out seven in a 1-0 win over Sinclair Community College.

Szalay, of Cuyahoga Community College, only had two games last week, but made them count. Against conference foe Sinclair Community College, Szalay went 6-for-9 with three runs, two doubles, one home run and eight RBIs (seven in one game).

Ducat, of Owens Community College, kept her perfect record this year with seven innings of four hit, three run (two earned) and zero walks against Mott Community College on March 30. She added five strikeouts. In the second game of the doubleheader, she appeared in relief and got a no decision after allowing three hits, one run (zero earned) and one walk with four strikeouts over 3.1 innings. Combined, she pitched 10.1 innings and allowed seven hits, one walk and four runs (two earned) with nine strikeouts.

Congratulations to these four student-athletes!
