Bailey Poppe, a sophomore outside hitter for the OCCAC-leading Chargers of Edison State, has been named the league’s Player of the Week for the second time this season. This extends the team’s streak to four straight individual honors to begin the 2025 season.
Poppe led Edison State to a trifecta of conference wins, hitting .538 with 49 kills across the three sweeps. She recorded no less than a dozen points in all three matches, including a 28-point outburst (23 kills, three aces, two solo blocks) against Lorain County to close out the week. Poppe terminated her 49 kills on 80 attempts with just six errors.
Defensive contributions were aplenty as well, putting up 2.8 digs per set and a total of six blocks.
