Cuyahoga Men’s Soccer burst out of the gates with a 6-3 victory in their season opener, defeating conference foe Lakeland. Sophomore forward Baraka Mwakilasa earned OCCAC Player of the Week accolades after his 4-point (one goal, two assists) performance.
He assisted on the Triceratops’ second and fourth goals while taking care of the capper himself, netting the team’s sixth goal. Mwakilasa fired off three shots in total. He becomes Cuyahoga’s first OCCAC Men’s Soccer Player of the Week since 2015 (men’s soccer was not sponsored by the OCCAC from 2016-23).
