Owen Community College embarked on its 2021 baseball journey this past week (March 1-7), sweeping a two-game series versus Lourdes University. The Express outscored Lourdes by a combined tally of 22-2. Shea Hendrixson and Wyatt Smith’s efforts have been elevated to OCCAC Pitcher and Player of the Week status.
SHEA HENDRIXSON – baseball player of the week

Hendrixson paired an error-free showing in right field with five hits in seven at-bats (.714 average). He drove in three runs and smacked a triple for a clean 1.000 slugging percentage. Hendrixson rounded out his box score with a stolen base and walk.
WYATT SMITH – baseball pitcher of the week
Owens Community College
Smith took the mound for Game 2 and delivered a 7-inning complete game win. He struck out a dozen batters in the truncated contest. A lone unearned run came across the plate as Smith offered up just four hits and issued no walks in the dominating performance.
