Bourne Earns OCCAC Weekly Award

Brooklyn Bourne and the Edison State volleyball team won three of four matches last week versus teams from the state of Michigan. The freshman outside hitter was very effective both offensively (4.00 kills/set) and defensively (3.21 digs/set) en route to picking up OCCAC Volleyball Player of the Week distinction. She is the second Charger to earn the nod this season after Graceanne Slade opened the ’23 campaign with an award-winning performance.

Bourne came up a lone dig shy of posting double-doubles in all four contests, accumulating nine digs in a sweep over Henry Ford College. She maxed out at 18 kills and 14 digs versus Glen Oaks. She hit .292 (56-14-144) for the week and added a combined nine points from the service line (five aces) and defensively at the net (one solo, six block assists). Bourne was responsible for no less than 14 points in each match.
