Slusher, White Share Opening Player of the Week Award

Brianna Slusher (Edison State) and Maddie White (Owens) are co-honorees for the first OCCAC Volleyball Player of the Week laurel for the 2021 season. Both student-athletes contributed heavily on offense and defense.

Slusher tallied 10 or more kills in all three contests, totaling 36 in 11 sets played (3.27/set). She got in done defensively as well, posting 3.55 digs and .82 blocks per set. Slusher came up with 23 digs in a four-set league win over Clark State.

White took the court for 19 sets during a 6-1 week for the top-ranked Express. She dug 3.32 balls per set to go along with a dozen blocks (.63/set). White was efficient on the attack, garnering a .421 hitting percentage for a total of 56 kills (2.95/set). She tacked on seven more points from the service stripe with seven aces.
