Busy Week for Minarik Leads to League Accolade

Kaitlynn Minarik logged 14 sets as a 6-rotation player for the Lakeland Lakers this week, scattering numbers all over the stat sheet and earning OCCAC Volleyball Player of the Week distinction. The sophomore outside hitter averaged nearly four points per set with totals of 40 kills, 11 aces and seven blocks. She also dug more than three balls per set.

In the two Lakeland victories, Minarik shouldered the load with 27 kills, 25 digs, eight aces and four blocks in eight sets. She attacked at a .368 clip (27-6-57) and averaged 4.7 points per set.

Minarik is the first Laker to snag the OCCAC weekly volleyball honor since Morgan Smart in 2018.
