Hayes and Jarvis Join Cuyahoga Pitching Duo for Weekly Honors

The OCCAC Softball and Baseball Player of the Week awards for April 15-21 went to Reagan Hayes (Lakeland) and Evan Jarvis (Bryant & Stratton), joined by Cuyahoga’s Mikayla Rash and Jackson Judy as the OCCAC Pitchers of the Week.

REAGAN HAYES | Lakeland
Softball Player of the Week
Hayes rattled off a six-game hitting streak during a 5-1 week for the Lakers, batting .632 (12-19) for the week. She drilled five doubles to slug .895 and drove in nine runs. Hayes also scored three runs, all while handling the catching duties defensively. She saved the best for last, accumulating a half dozen RBI in the final game of the week at Owens.

Softball Pitcher of the Week
After a week away, Rash is back for her second OCCAC Pitcher of the Week Award this month. She went a perfect 3-0 in three appearances, including two complete game showings. For the week, Rash logged 16 innings and allowed five runs (four earned) on 10 hits and eight walks while striking out 10 batters. She surrendered a lone unearned run and hit a 2-run homerun offensively in Cuyahoga’s pivotal 4-1 win over Hocking to create some space atop the league standings.

EVAN JARVIS | Bryant & Stratton (OH)
Baseball Player of the Week
Jarvis absolutely tore it up in the Bobcats’ 8-win week. The sophomore third baseman racked up six extra-base hits, including four homeruns and 13 RBI. He also reached base by drawing a walk 10 times, ultimately scoring 15 runs of his own, boosted by three steals on three attempts. In the middle of the week, Jarvis hit for the cycle versus Lakeland. His second weekly honor this month was powered by a 1.238 slugging percentage and 1.915 OBP.

JACKSON JUDY | Cuyahoga
Baseball Pitcher of the Week
Zero earned runs came across during two victorious starts for Judy. He toed the rubber for 10.1 innings in total, striking out 17 batters along the way. Judy stuffed 10 K’s into just 4.1 innings versus Owens before coming back with seven more K’s in blanking Edison State for six innings. The sophomore gave up only six hits and four walks during the 2-0 week.
