Tri-Awards for the Triceratops

Tri-Awards for the Triceratops

All three OCCAC weekly awards presented for April 8-14 are headed to Cuyahoga Community College as the Triceratops swept the honors. Maddison Collins (pitcher of the week) and Kerrigan Williams (player of the week) are the softball recipients while Kyle Koehler earned baseball’s player of the week laurels. No baseball pitcher was awarded this week.

KYLE KOEHLER | Cuyahoga
Baseball Player of the Week
Koehler defends his title and becomes the first back-to-back honoree since Clark State’s Ben Scartz was named Player of the Week on April 25 and May 2, 2022. Koehler put forth one of the most explosive efforts in recent OCCAC history. During a 4-0 week for the Triceratops, he blasted five homeruns and drove in 15 runs. The sophomore went 8-for-14 overall and added two walks for an OPS of 2.268. Koehler was good for at least one homerun and two RBI in all four contests, including a 2-homerun, 6-RBI outing to get the week started.

KERRIGAN WILLIAMS | Cuyahoga
Softball Player of the Week
Williams hit .714 (10-for-14) with a pair of doubles in four ‘Tops victories, and was an absolute terror on the basepaths. She scored eight runs, due in large part a blistering eight stolen bases on eight attempts. All four games were multi-hit performances and included at least one swiped bag. Her peak came in Game 2 versus Owens, compiling two extra-base hits, two RBI, two runs and three steals.

MADDISON COLLINS | Cuyahoga
Softball Pitcher of the Week
Collins pitched in three of the four Cuyahoga wins over Owens, earning two wins in the circle. The first came in the form of a 3.1-inning relief appearance while the second was a start in Game 4. She sandwiched the two victorious outings with two scoreless frames of relief in Game 2. For the week, Collins surrendered two runs on seven hits and five walks while striking out a pair in 9.2 innings of work.
