Bryant & Stratton (OH) Baseball is off to a 7-1 start in league play and swept the OCCAC’s weekly honors for March 25-21 while Edison State’s Allison Davis defended her title as the conference’s softball Pitcher of the Week and Abbie Gayner of Cuyahoga earned Player of the Week recognition.

Baseball Player of the Week
Jarvis and the Bobcats rattled off six straight victories, all against league foes. The third baseman was an absolute slugger at the dish, connecting on two homeruns, two doubles and 11 hits overall in 20 at-bats (.950 slugging percentage). He accumulated 15 RBI and scored 11 runs himself while also drawing four walks and stealing a base.

Baseball Pitcher of the Week
Cody hurled a 7-inning shutout of the Hocking Hawks, trumping two hits with 10 strikeouts. He came back later in the week to deliver a hitless inning of relief to run his week’s total to eight innings with no runs and 11 total strikeouts (zero walks).

ABBIE GAYNER | Cuyahoga
Softball Player of the Week
Gayner strung together five consecutive multi-hit games and was directly responsible for 21 runs (11 RBI, 10 scored) during a 6-1 week for the Triceratops. She hit for the cycle in a tightly-contested 9-7 win over Edison State and racked up 14 hits by week’s end (14-of-24), including two homeruns, two doubles and a triple.

Softball Pitcher of the Week
The reigning honoree is back again after chewing up 15.2 innings while appearing in all four games for Edison State. She went 2-0 and issued zero walks in two starts and two relief appearances. Only two earned runs came across (7 total) on 14 hits and 10 strikeouts. She added five runs, two doubles and an RBI offensively.
