Top Performers of Spring Season’s Fifth Week

The Edison State trio of Jaren Slusher, Hanna DeLong and Morgan Pike were joined by Bryant & Stratton (OH)’s Jackson Homage as the OCCAC’s athletes of the week for March 21-27. Slusher and Pine earned Pitcher of the Week honors while DeLong and Homage were voted as the Players of the Week.

HANNA DELONG | Softball (Position) Player of the Week
Edison State Community College
DeLong stuffed her four at-bats with two homeruns and six RBI as the Chargers posted a pair of lopsided victories. She slugged 2.250 with the pair of bombs and scored a total of three runs. DeLong added a stolen base as well.

JACKSON HOMAGE | Baseball (Position) Player of the Week
Bryant & Stratton College (OH)
Homage was a monster in the Bobcats pair of doubleheader sweeps over PSU Beaver and Clark State. He went 9-for-12 (.750) and scored eight runs after swiping three bags. Homage also drove in four runs while recording three multi-hit games.

MORGAN PINE | Softball Pitcher of the Week
Edison State Community College
Pine pitched a 5-inning complete game in the Chargers’ second win of the week. She surrendered a lone run on two hits and two walks. The freshman struck out 10 batters in the truncated contest.

JAREN SLUSHER | Baseball Pitcher of the Week
Edison State Community College
Slusher one-hit Terra State in a 7-inning complete game shutout. He allowed only three baserunners (one hit, two walks) and sat down 14 batters via strikeout.
