Rowser, Wagner Rise Above the Rest

Ike Rowser (Lorain County) and Hazely Wagner (Hocking) shined the brightest as the calendar flipped to February — both unanimous selections for the latest OCCAC Player of the Week distinction (Jan. 26-Feb.1).

Rowser poured in 41 points during a triumphant 123-107 sprint past Hocking. He caught fire from deep, hitting 10-of-13 beyond the 3-point arc, and converted on 15-of-22 field goal attempts overall. Rowser hauled in 11 rebounds as well to complete an impressive double-double. He rounded out his stat line with two assists and two steals.

Wagner was the key cog in a 2-0 effort on the road for the Hawks to improve to 14-5 overall and 6-3 in league play. She hit the go-ahead 3-pointer late at Edison State en route to 20 total points during the 62-55 winner. Wagner followed that up by holding Lorain County’s Abbey Schmitz to just 12 points, eight less than her season average. She also contributed heavily on offense with 16 points and seven assists to go along with five rebounds and five steals.
