Fresh Faces for Player of the Week Distinction

Freshmen Tavion Pride (Lorain County) and Cayleigh Dupler (Hocking) each earned their first career OCCAC Basketball Player of the Week honor on Presidents Day. Both lifted their respective teams to victory in the week's lone contest.

Pride crammed an 18-point, 13-rebound double-double into just 22 minutes of an 86-83 win over Owens. He sprinkled on four assists (zero turnovers), a steal and a block to boot.

Dupler knocked down four 3-pointers in a 2-point road win (61-59) at Clark State, including a long-range snipe with 30 seconds to go to push the Hawks ahead by four points. She posted four rebounds, two steals and a block with no turnovers while never leaving the court and playing all 40 minutes. Hocking Women’s Basketball has now won back-to-back weekly awards after Emily Blevins brought home the first such honor in program history last week.
