Averaging nearly 30 points per game (29.5 to be exact), Lorain County’s Willie Powell, Jr., ran away with the OCCAC Player of the Week honor for Nov. 20-26. The freshman guard converted on 24-of-41 (59%) from the floor and 6-of-10 (60%) beyond the arc. He also added nine rebounds, three assists and three steals while committing a lone turnover in 58 minutes across two games.
Powell opened the week with 27 points, five rebounds and three assists in a 93-61 victory at Westmoreland County. He then came back to score 32 more in a road setback at Community Christian.
