Brooklyn Bourne (Edison State) and Emily Lake (Owens) earned OCCAC co-Player of the Week laurels for Oct. 9-15. Bourne and the Chargers swept past Cuyahoga and Lakeland while Lake and The Express were also straight-set victors over Cuyahoga.
Bourne picks up her second weekly conference award (also won on Sept. 4) of the season. She was responsible for 4.33 points and 3.33 digs per set in the back-to-back sweeps. The freshman outside hitter connected at a rate of .296 (22-6-54).
Lake flashed elite efficiency on her at 15 attempts, terminating 10 kills with a lone error, recording a .600 hitting percentage. She added seven digs and two blocks to her award-winning effort.
