A familiar name has returned as the OCCAC Player of the Week. Vanecia Billings picked up her fourth career weekly league award overall and second on the volleyball court. The two-time basketball player of the week is now also a two-timer for volleyball.
For her latest honor, Billings provided 3.61 points per set in a three-match week for Lorain County. She bounced 10 or more kills in both of the Commodores’ victorious sweeps, including a week-high 14 points (10 kills, two solo blocks, four block assists) against Lakeland. Billings terminated 11 of 20 error-free attempts at Kent State Tuscarawas for a .550 hitting percentage. She swung .426 (25-5-47) for the week and posted 1.11 blocks per set.
