Double digits were splashed across the stat sheets for this week’s OCCAC Basketball Players of the Week, Olivia Howard (Terra State) and Jayden Roberts (Lorain County), combining for two double-doubles, a triple-double and another close call falling a lone rebound shy.
Howard not only tallied the triple-double with 20 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds in a Titans’ 73-59 league win at Edison State, but nearly averaged a triple-double during the program’s 3-0 week. The sophomore guard recorded per-game clips of 23.3 points, 9.0 assists and 8.7 rebounds. As if that wasn’t enough, Howard also chipped in three steals and three blocks while playing all but two minutes for the entire week.
Roberts buried 19-of-30 (63%) field goal attempts for a total of 45 points in two contests. He snared 11 rebounds to go along with his 27 points in a 75-60 triumph at Allegheny County. For the week, Roberts registered 22.5 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game while committing only one turnover total.
