Rylie Homan (Edison State) and Jayveon Roe (Lorain County) started off 2026 with a bang, earning the year’s first OCCAC Player of the Week honors.
Homan did it all during a 109-96 win over Oakland, accumulating 15 points, nine rebounds, eight assists and seven steals in 32 minutes on the court. She forced herself to the foul line often, capitalizing by going 8-for-8 at the charity stripe.
Roe did his part during a 127-117 shoot-out with Butler County, shooting nearly 80 percent (15-19) from the floor to contribute 32 points. The freshman forward did everything he could to keep the Commodores alive in the eventual setback, also posting game highs in rebounds (12) and steals (4).
