Manny Hill (Cuyahoga) and Olivia Howard (Terra State) are the latest OCCAC Players of the Week, each sweeping first-place vote. Hill is a first-time honoree while Howard defended her standing and is now a back-to-back winner.
Hill buried nearly 70 percent of his field goal attempts during a 3-0 week for the Triceratops. He averaged north of 20 points per game after making 22-of-32 from the field, including 9-of-16 beyond the 3-point arc. Hill registered no less than 16 points, seven rebounds and three assists in all three contests, including a pivotal 25-point, 10-rebound double-double in an OT win over Erie.
Howard was dominant in the Titans only game of the week, an 82-59 triumph over Clark State. The sophomore guard flirted with her second triple-double in as many weeks by racking up 28 points, 14 boards and eight assists. She converted on 12-of-16 (75%) from the floor, and crashed the glass for a half dozen offensive rebounds. Howard tacked on two blocks for good measure.
