Jaali Peterson accounted for three points during a 7-0 showing for Owens Men’s Soccer versus Terra State. He sandwiched a 38th-minute assist with goals in the 15th and 65th minutes, earning OCCAC Player of the Week recognition.
In addition to his offensive outburst against the Titans, Peterson was called upon to play out of position and fill in at defender for an injured teammate versus a pair of D-II opponents. His athleticism and leadership on the defensive side allowed The Express to hang toe-to-toe with nationally-ranked Schoolcraft and Marian University Ancilla, narrowly dropping both contests, 1-0.
“Jaali is very dynamic, athletic, composed and competitive,” said Owens head coach Nate Baer. “He has stepped into leadership in ways that create significant value to the team. His competitiveness separates him at this level.”
