Kyan Martin stood tall between the posts for the Express, recording seven saves in a pair of shutouts — earning himself OCCAC Player of the Week honors in the process. Owens blanked both Cuyahoga and Grand Rapids, the former clinching an outright conference championship for the Express (9-5, 5-1 OCCAC).
Martin’s stellar play in net proved pivotal as the victories came by the slimmest of margin, 1-0 in both matches. The sophomore goalkeeper now has a half dozen shutouts this season, including three in OCCAC play.
