Sophomore midfielder Byron Perez tallied seven points (three goals, one assist) during a 1-0-1 week for Lakeland Men’s Soccer to earn OCCAC Player of the Week honors for Sept. 22-28. This is the second such honor of Perez’s career, winning the nod as a freshman on Oct. 7, 2024.
Perez and the Lakers opened the week with a 3-0 blanking of Grand Rapids where Perez played a key role in all three scores. He netted the first two himself before assisting on the third goal. The next match was intra-conference and ended in a 3-3 draw with Terra State. Perez found the back of the net in that contest as well, recording his third goal of the week.
