Malcolm Curry and Presley Reese doubled up the OCCAC Basketball Player of the Week recognition for Week 1, both bringing the honor to Edison State’s campus following victorious season openers.
Curry dropped in 27 points during a 97-72 win over Kellogg. The sophomore guard knocked down 8-of-13 (62%) from the floor, including 2-of-4 from long range. He added nine made free throws on 10 attempts to complete his scoring line. Curry was also responsible for four rebounds, three blocks and two assists while committing zero turnovers in 26 minutes of action.
Reese posted a 24-point, 10-rebound double-double in the Chargers’ 86-53 triumph over Kellogg. She converted 10 made field goals in just 27 minutes on the court. Four of her 10 boards came on the offensive glass, and she added two steals.
