Reineke Named OCCAC Player of the Week

Springfield, Ohio---Meg Reineke (New Knoxville/New Knoxville, Ohio), a sophomore outside hitter for the Sinclair Community College volleyball team, has been named the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) Player of the Week for matches between Sept. 5-11.

Last week, Reineke helped lead her team to a 4-0 record, including wins over Oakland Community College, Columbus State Community College, Mercyhurst North East Community College and Lansing Community College.

In the wins over Oakland and Columbus State, Reineke recorded 22 kills apiece. She followed that up with nine more against Mercyhurst North East and 13 against Lansing. In addition to that, she totaled 95 digs in those four matches, including 38 against Oakland and 36 against Columbus State. She also had three blocks, four assists and three aces. 

This is the first OCCAC player of the week award of the season for Reineke, who also earned the honor on Nov. 1 of last year. She was also a one-time recipient of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II player of the week last year.

Also receiving votes in week two of the season were Maryssa Kellick, a sophomore middle hitter for Lorain County Community College, and Tyanna Smith, a sophomore middle blocker for Owens Community College.
