Cincinnati State's Gerhardstein Voted OCCAC Player of the Week in Volleyball

Claire Gerhardstein, a sophomore middle hitter for Cincinnati State Technical and Community College, has been voted this week's OCCAC player of the week in women's volleyball.

Over three conference matches this past week, Gerhardstein totaled 29 kills and 24 blocks while hitting .563.

Gerhardstein opened the week with 11 kills, seven blocks (three solo), four digs, and one service ace in a five set win over Sinclair Community College. She followed that up with eight kills, seven blocks (three solo), four digs and three service aces in a four set win over Cuyahoga Community College. She closed the week with 10 kills, 10 blocks (four solo), three digs and one service ace in a four set loss to Lakeland Community College.

Gerhardstein has 202 kills with a .406 hitting percentage this year, along with 11 service aces, 41 digs and 178 blocks (91 solo).

Cincinnati State is 20-10 overall and 8-4 in OCCAC play this year. They currently sit in second place in the OCCAC heading into Wednesday's non-conference match against Clark State Community College.
