Ruffing Named OCCAC Volleyball Player of the Week

Columbus, Ohio---Stephanie Ruffing, a sophomore outside hitter for Columbus State Community College, has been named the OCCAC volleyball player of the week.

Ruffing currently ranks second nationally in kills per set with 5.17 and first nationally in hitting percentage at .551.

Ths past week, she led her team to a five set win over Owens Community College with 27 kills and 28 digs. Also, in a win over Sinclair, she played only two sets, but recorded 10 kills and six digs.

"Stephanie has elite skills and a powerful attack from the outside enabling her to take complete control of a match offensively," said Columbus State head women's volleyball coach Jaclyn Yocum. "She posts a solid block and covers a lot of space in the back court - making her not only an asset offensively, but defensively as well."

Ruffing and No. 14 Columbus State are currently 9-0 overall and 5-0 in OCCAC play.
