Cougar Volleyball Moves Up In NJCAA Poll, Preparing To Battle For Conference's Top Spot

Columbus, Ohio---The Columbus State volleyball team is ranked 14th in this week's edition of the National Junior College Athletic Association's volleyball poll released Tuesday by the national office.

With a pre-season ranking of 16th, the Cougars have gone undefeated, winning eight matches. They have dropped only four sets this season, two to the unranked Waubonsee, one to the 18th ranked Muskegon and one to unranked Lakeland.

On Saturday, the Cougars take on conference rival Owens at noon on the home court. The Cougars and the Express are currently tied for first in the OCCAC with 4-0 records apiece.

Admission to the match is free to Columbus State students and employees with a valid Cougar ID and children 5 and under, $1.00 for ages 6-18, and $5 for everyone else.

After Saturday's match, the Cougars are on the road. They play a conference match in Piqua v. Edison on Sep. 17, a regional match v. Ancilla on Sep. 19, and then continue west to Illinois to compete in Kankakee College's Quad Match on Sep. 20.
