By Nicholas Huenefeld/OCCAC Sports Information

Erika Hartings of Owens Community College has been named the OCCAC volleyball player of the week.

Hartings, a freshman right side hitter, led Owens in this past weekend's Owens Invitational. In six matches, she had 82 kills, along with two assists, 23 digs and 18 blocks.

In 11 matches this year, Hartings has 125 kills with a .346 attack percentage. Additionally, she has totaled two assists, four aces, 28 digs and 29 total blocks.

Notes

Due to the Labor Day holiday, this week's selection process was pushed back a little.

Two candidates were disqualified, as one didn't have stats entered on the national site and the other didn't have a headshot submitted in time. So, as a reminder, all materials must be submitted by Mondays at 12 p.m. for a student-athlete to qualify for player of the week honors. For a reminder of what is due each week, visit here
